BOOK RELEASE EVENT: SIMPLY AMERICAN, A GENTLE WARRIOR AND HIS PEOPLE
ATHENS, Ga. -- On November 11, 2008, Veteran's Day in America, friends and family will gather with ROTC, Terry College of Business, Leonard Leadership Scholars, Sig Ep and University of Georgia Athletics Association Cheer squad and pep band to celebrate the release of "Simply American, A Gentle Warrior and His People", a book written by the Harris family about the life of student, scholar, soldier and leader Noah Harris. The event at 11am in the Memorial Hall ballroom is open to the public and will include reading of several passages from the book and will be followed by a reception at 12pm outside at the flagpole in the garden adjacent to the military building on campus. 1st Lt. Noah Harris was killed in Irag June 2005 while leading a troop of men from the 2nd batallion. He is a 2003 graduate of UGA, Terry College of Business, was Captain of cheer squad, a Leonard Leadership Scholar, snd member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
