2008 UGA Alumnus of the Year

Cecil R. Cooke

Aon Risk Services

Cecil R. Cooke received his BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 1975. He has spent his entire career in the insurance agency and brokerage business.

During his 33 year career, Cecil has been involved in sales, client management, practice leadership and office leadership. He was a Sr. Vice President and member of the Board for Palmer & Cay, Director of Business Development for Sedgwick of the Carolina's and post acquisition became a Managing Director for Marsh USA. He is currently a Managing Director for Aon Risk Services and is responsible for co-leading their US Risk Management Practice.

Cecil has been active in supporting the RIMS chapters in Atlanta and the Carolina's. He also supports both the Terry College of Business and the RMI School of the University of Georgia. Mr. Cooke has been involved in numerous charitable organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Tocqueville Society of the United Way. He also serves as a Director of the Board for both the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Cecil is married to Pamela Colby Cooke, who is also an alumni of the University, class of 1975. They reside in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
