Gamma Iota Sigma is an honorary fraternity with selective membership criteria. To join Gamma Iota Sigma, a student must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average for all coursework. In addition to the recognition associated with membership in an honorary organization, students who join Gamma Iota Sigma have opportunities for extensive contact and interaction with industry representatives, through the meetings and special conferences sponsored by the fraternity, and through the services offered through the Gamma Iota Sigma Grand Chapter.
Gamma Iota Sigma also is responsible for the Intern-for-a-Day program. This program gives students the opportunity to visit companies for a day to see their risk management or insurance related operations.
Currently, dues for Gamma Iota Sigma are $40. Membership applications (PDF | 61 KB) can be obtained in 206 Brooks; students who are accepted for membership must make a one-time dues payment in addition to Insurance Society dues. For additional details about the fraternity, contact the Faculty Advisor, James Hilliard (297 Brooks Hall).
