Patrick S. "Pat" Pittard is retired Chairman of the Board of Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., the world's premier provider of executive-level search and leadership consulting services. Pat previously served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. HSI is the merged corporation of Heidrick & Struggles, Inc. (North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific) and Heidrick & Struggles, Europe. Previously, Pat served as Chief Executive Officer of Heidrick & Struggles, Inc.

When he was active in search engagements, Pat specializes in senior level searches such as CEO and Corporate Directors. As Chairman of the Board, Pat provided strategic leadership to the Board of Directors and management to ensure the firm's preeminence and world-class standing as well as provide leadership to appropriate compliance responsibilities.

During Pat's tenure as CEO, his leadership and vision was demonstrated through the firm's impressive financial growth and global expansion. He led the merger of the firm's U.S. and European operations, which had operated separately for 19 years, and also led the firm's initial public offering, and nine months later its follow-on offering.

While enhancing global preeminence by spearheading the firm's expansion through internal growth, Pat led several strategic mergers with established firms in North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. He also led the firm into numerous strategic alliances, and into the creation and development of complementary businesses to add to the firm's core executive search product, offering clients solutions for their total human capital needs.

Pat graduated from The University of Georgia and has been honored by the Terry College of Business as its Distinguished Alumnus. He has held or currently holds several board positions. The organizations both for-profit and not-for-profit include HIS, Artisan Funds, Jefferson-Pilot Corporation, University of Georgia Foundation where he is the recent past Chairman, and North Carolina Outward Bound.

An expert in executive level human capital matters, which include recruitment, retention, compensation and matters involving the executive search industry. Pat is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, and Business Week, as well as many international publications and broadcast media; and he is listed among The Global 200 Executive Recruiters. He is also a co-owner of a minor league baseball team and is a 2002 Appalachian Trail thru-hiker.

Mr. Pittard and his wife, Dana, live in Atlanta and Sea Island Georgia. They have three children.
